I was just given a Fitbit. Thanks to my hubby. I thought it would be fun to track my steps, and I figured the Fitbit would motivate me to finally lose the last few pounds of baby weight. Plus, it actually looks kind of stylish, and who am I to deny a cute accessory? Today is my third day wearing it. I have yet to reach the 10,000 steps-a-day goal, even though my four-year-old ran around with it this morning. I thought for sure I would get some bonus steps from that. Oh – did I just write that? Whoops. Well, I am determined to up my steps to get all five light-up-dots. Even if it means walking in place while brushing my teeth or running in place like an idiot next to my laptop. Skinny jeans, get ready!
But in all honestly, I have actually started working out more often. I now get up extra early so I can get it out of the way in the morning before I start the real morning routine of making lunches, doing ponytails (or these days, Elsa braids), and racing to school before heading into the office. Yikes.
But to be real, I also earned a good deal of my steps walking back to the kitchen several times to get chocolate. What… Is that a problem?

UPDATE: I actually did hit 10,000 steps today. I guess being a busy mommy is all it takes. Like I really needed a device to tell me that.
