What do you do when a four-year-old pulls a chair over to the sink and tells you she wants to do the dishes? While I normally don’t like the girls standing on chairs, let’s just say that I ignored the rule this time around! She took my water bottle and started scrubbing it with a sponge and water. Then she dried it. It was not really clean, but I pretended it was. She thought she was being so helpful. It was really heartwarming.
Of course, her younger sister had to join in on the fun. I’m sure it was for the attention, but believe me, I will give attention for this kind of behavior any day. I just had to take a picture of the two of them washing dishes, as I’m sure as they get older, this picture may become museum quality. Let’s just say that I don’t see them offering to wash dishes as teenagers – but I could be wrong – who knows!
