Ipsy January 2015 Unboxing

I am always excited to see my shiny pink bubble envelope from Ipsy in the mailbox each month. As soon as I opened it, I was a little disappointed to see a plain, basic, boring, blah bag inside. Royal blue on one side, white on the other, and with an orange zipper. None of these things called my name. At least it is slightly textured, but still.ipsy january 2015

When I opened the bag, things looked a little more promising – whew!  Here’s what was inside this month’s glam bag:

Bellapierre Cosmetics Eye Dust in Celebration. I absolutely love loose eyeshadows. They have much more staying power, and I love the slight shimmer. The color is very golden, almost with a little orange in it. While I love the powder itself, I’m not so sure the color is for me. It might look pretty blended with another shade. Here is a closer look at the color:

Eco-Beauty “Good Day” Day Moisturizer. A travel sized moisturizer is always a good thing to have. It is also cruelty free. I will most likely use it as an nighttime moisturizer, though. Otherwise, my skin tends to get too oily during the day. And I have to say that I love the screw top. Bonus points for that alone. Most sample creams and moisturizers come in a packet that needs to be ripped open. This makes a mess when opening (maybe that’s just me!), and also leaves a mess if I try to save it for a second application.

Elizabeth Mott All Over Shadow Brush. This was actually the last item that I pulled out of the bag, and it is my favorite this month! Not only can you never have too many shadow brushes, but a pink brush?! Not only are the bristles pink, but the handle is pink.  Love love love! This alone made me love this month’s bag. ipsy january 2015

Probelle Nail Lacquer in Into The Blue. I am definitely more of a classic nail polish kind of a girl, so I may not be wearing this hue. But, my Frozen-obsessed daughters (especially my oldest) are into anything that is close to Elsa blue.

Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow in Ethereal. I have received a sample of Pacifica shadow in a previous Ipsy bag, and I wasn’t too impressed. This color seems nice and neutral, with a slight shimmer, so maybe it will work out better than the purple color I previously received. Regardless, I love the turquoise box with swirl designs. I’ll have to try this one out and see. Maybe I’ll wear it tomorrow morning to take the girls to gymnastics. Or, on second thought, I’m not sure if eyeshadow goes with the pajamas I plan to wear tomorrow morning. Tomorrow is Saturday, after all, and I don’t know what I was thinking to schedule a 9AM class for them. I’m tired just thinking about it!
