It feels like I have been pregnant (or have just had a baby) for the last seven years straight. Actually, I think that is scarily accurate. As a result, I haven’t had the chance to update my wardrobe much. I have stacks of jeans that are mostly outdated (hello bootcut!) and tops that I bought for easy nursing access. The majority of these tops are stretched out (for obvious reasons) or are just not cute. I am finally delving back into my inner fashionista self that I used to be pre-kiddos. I need new [& majorly cute] clothes asap!
I thought Stitch Fix would be a great option to get a few new pieces. A stylist supposedly chooses items for you based on your notes, style and taste. You keep what you want, and send back what you don’t. Plus, what fun to receive a surprise in the mail… right?! I liked nothing in my first shipment. I mean, not even a little. Checkered slacks? I mean, come on. I thought I would give it one more try. I gave more detailed information and an inspiration board. My second shipment just arrived. I sort of liked a sweater, but the rest was b-a-d. Anyway, back to being my own stylist.
Two of my most recent purchases that I absolutely love:
Hudson Super Skinny Jeans in Topanga, which is a really pretty dusty mauve. I love that Hudson jeans are made in the USA. I actually first fell in love with Hudson back in my days working at Guess (in the corporate office). Several styles were private labeled under the Guess brand, and I have been a fan ever since.
This particular pair is so soft and deliciously stretchy. Perfect for running errands around town. The color will work all year round; Paired with black, gray or white for a neutral cool look. The hem is super skinny, which is perfect for tucking inside this season’s hottest boots. I can’t wait to wear them.
Another favorite brand of mine is Rag & Bone. I mean, who can resist the hipster cool vibe of this label? I have been looking for the perfect booties for a while now, and I found them in the Rag & Bone Newbury Bootie. They have a pre-worn, slightly distressed look about them, and believe it or not, they’re beyond comfortable. The leather is so supple and ultra soft. Plus, the zipper detail on the back not only makes them super easy to put on (unlike some boots), but is also very cool looking.
They come in both suede and leather. I will admit that I actually have both… yikes! But they’re amazing, so hey.
You can watch the video here if you’d like to see the items a little closer. This is my first attempt at making a video, so please be nice 🙂
I will share some more of my stylish finds as they come.

I love this color for pants! I had a pair of boot cut cords in this color and wore them all the time. I really only wear skinny jeans now. Love the booties too. I need a pair!
