My June Ipsy beauty glam bag just arrived. Ipsy has been a little bit hit or miss lately, but this month was surprisingly good. This month’s pouch is a black neoprene like bag with a fluorescent coral zipper and pull (I actually love this color for Summer!). The pouch itself has the Ipsy logo all over the front. I am not a huge fan of logos, so this one is not a keeper. But more importantly, here’s what was inside:
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. This is a cult classic that I have used over and over. It’s a must-have in any cosmetics drawer. Use it before applying makeup to keep your foundation and other makeup in place, and to give your makeup a smooth surface to sit. It amps up the pretty factor by a notch. This is a perfect travel size tube that I will happily throw in my bag during my Summer travels. Score!
Trestique Shadow Crayon in Marimoto Pink Pearl. This pearlescent twist up crayon eye shadow is a great no-mess product. Perfect to take in your on-the-go cosmetics bag without having to worry about shadow flecks all over. The color is a universally flattering nude with a hint of pink. So pretty. This may become a Summer staple of mine.
Liptitude Lip Stain. I love the packaging of this product. Compact and easy to hold. It is a lip stain that applies and looks like a gloss. Plus, it claims to have long lasting staying power. The color is a nice, bold berry hue that will get you noticed without it being too bright. Perfect when paired with an LBD for a girls’ night out.
It Cosmetics Brow Power. Brows can definitely make your break your overall look. I am not a huge fan of strong brows, but sparse-looking ones are not a good look, either. This convenient product has an eyebrow pencil on one end and a spool brush on the other. Genius. The pencil is said to be a universally flattering color that you can apply in various layers to match your desired shade. After applying the pencil, then go over your brows with the brush to get a perfectly sculpted look. Plus, It Cosmetics claims that once applied, the pencil will last all day.
Altcheck Dermatologist MD DePuff Eye Pads. Two packs of these soothing hydrator pads were included in this month’s glam bag, which means that you can get a better gauge as to whether or not they really work. These pads claim to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduce puffiness, and also to hydrate the skin under the eyes. You wear these pads for 30 minutes, and then peel and rinse. You can also refrigerate them before use for extra cooling and soothing benefits. Even though I love anti-aging skin care products, these eye pads are probably my least favorite item in this month’s bag. I will still try them for fun, of course!
